Obama Seeks Partial Three-Year Spending Freeze →
“President Obama, after spending hundreds of billions his first year, now is seeking a partial three-year federal spending freeze that would reduce budgets by less than 1 percent.” “…estimate projecting the 2010 federal deficit to hit $1.35 trillion — Obama’s spending freeze would be expected to save up to $15 billion the first year. “ ...

Professor Is a Label That Leans to the Left →
By PATRICIA COHEN “The overwhelmingly liberal tilt of university professors has been explained by everything from outright bias to higher I.Q. scores. Now new research suggests that critics may have been asking the wrong question. Instead of looking at why most professors are liberal, they should ask why so many liberals — and so few conservatives — want to be professors.” Posted by...

The War Against Suburbia →
By Joel Kotkin “For the first time in memory, the suburbs are under a conscious and sustained attack from Washington. Little that the adminstration has pushed—from the Wall Street bailouts to the proposed “cap and trade” policies—offers much to predominately middle-income-oriented suburbanites and instead appears to have worked to alienate them.” By Abby Olin, media director

The Libertarian Vote in the Age of Obama →
By David Kirby and David Boaz “Libertarian — or fiscally conservative, socially liberal — voters are often torn between their aversions to the Republicans’ social conservatism and the Democrats’ fiscal irresponsibility. Yet libertarians rarely factor into pundits’ and pollsters’ analyses.” Posted by Abby Olin, media director

The 'Responsibility' Tax Fannie and Freddie are... →
“Mr. Obama’s new “Financial Crisis Responsibility Fee”—please don’t call it a tax—is being sold as a way to cover expected losses in the Troubled Asset Relief Program. That sounds reasonable, except that the banks designated to pay the fee aren’t those responsible for the losses. With the exception of Citigroup, those banks have repaid their TARP money with interest.” Yea sure, its ALLLLLL the...

Brown defeats Coakley in Massachusetts Senate...
What does this spell for the Democrats? The senate could simply stall his seat approval, as I would only expect Reid to do. Will Brown’s win halt Obama’s healthcare bill? The bill is already being stalled all by itself. The democrats working behind closed doors will not go over well with the republicans and even the moderate democrats. With the upcoming elections we will see the...
